2023 Graduation ceremony registration

Our 2023 Graduation Ceremony will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA on Saturday, July 29th, 2023.

In order to walk in the ceremony, a graduate must...

  • Successfully complete all academic and financial requirements by 6:00pm EST on June 30, 2023.
  • Complete graduate registration. Details were sent to eligible graduates on May 15, 2023.

Schedule of events

  • Doors open at 11am
  • Ceremony begins at 2pm and expected to end by 5pm

Graduate Cap & Gown

  • Regalia can be purchased from the NYICD Josten's store. Store link coming soon! Your cap, gown, and tassel will be mailed directly to you from Josten’s. If you prefer to purchase separately, please make sure your gown is black.
  • You can expect to receive your regalia package within 4 weeks of payment and will be shipped directly to you from Josten’s. Orders must be placed by June 30th to ensure delivery in time for the event.

Your formal diploma, certificate, or degree will be sent to your home and will not be handed out at the ceremony.

Guest tickets

Graduation is a milestone. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate your achievement with family and friends. Make memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Guest ticket sales will open on May 15th. All eligible graduates will receive an email with links to purchase guest tickets. Ticket prices are $30.00 each, plus Ticketmaster fees.
  • Guest tickets will be available for purchase through Ticketmaster.
  • All seats are general admission.
  • All guests over 2 years of age require a ticket.
  • Graduates walking in the ceremony do not need a guest ticket but do need to register to attend.

Graduates will receive an email soon with details on pricing and how to purchase tickets.

What must graduates do to be eligible to walk in the ceremony?

Any graduate, from 2020 through 2023, from NYICD, or our partner schools, is eligible to participate. To walk, you must successfully complete all academic and financial requirements by 6:00pm EST on June 30, 2023.

Eligible graduates will receive an email on May 15, 2023, with links to register, purchase guest tickets and buy regalia.

Will guest tickets be sold on site the day of the event?

There is no way to guarantee guest tickets will be for sale on the day of graduation. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance. All tickets are general admission. There is no assigned seating.

Will I receive a diploma at the ceremony?

No, as you should have received your diploma upon completion of your program. However, you will receive a diploma holder at the ceremony to commemorate this important day.

What if I have more questions or need to contact NYICD?

Where will the ceremony be held?

Location - The Mohegan Sun Arena is located at 255 Highland Park Blvd, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA 18702.

Parking - Parking for the event at Mohegan Sun Arena is free. The Mohegan Sun Arena parking lot is located adjacent to the venue and is accessible via Highland Park Blvd. or Mundy St.

Will special assistance be provided to graduates with disabilities?

Why will the NYICD Graduation be held as a combined event with Penn Foster, Ashworth College, James Madison High School, and New York Institute of Art and Design?

NYICD is part of a larger group of online learning providers, including those listed above. In order to accommodate the large demand and maintain the spirit of celebration for this special milestone for our learners, families and friends, the six institutions will hold a combined graduation ceremony event.

Why are we hosting graduation ceremonies in Pennsylvania?

After assessing our needs and available options based on location, commitments, and logistics, the decision was made to host the graduation ceremonies at a venue that could accommodate the size of our audience and graduates. The Mohegan Sun facility in Wilkes-Barre, PA will allow us to accommodate the biggest audience we’ve had, and we have had successful Penn Foster graduation ceremonies at this venue in the past.

Will learners be recognized as NYICD graduates?

Yes, learners will be recognized as graduates of the school they attended.

What school name will my diploma say?

You will receive your diploma or certificate from the school in which you graduated. If you are enrolled in NYICD, your diploma will state that as your achievement-granting entity.

Can I buy commemorative products at the ceremony?

Yes! Commemorative merchandise from the NYICD School Store will be available for purchase on site.
