For people who are interested in joining the fast-growing healthcare industry, a career as a pharmacy technician is within reach. NYICD’s Pharmacy Technician Certification
program is designed to teach students how to accurately perform the standard techniques and operating procedures required in the pharmacy setting, including medication transcriptions, drug dispensation, and recordkeeping.
This course will prepare students to take either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Pharmacy Technician Certification (ExCPT) offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). These nationally-recognized industry certifications will ensure one has the skills needed to succeed in this growing field. The cost for these certifications will be covered in the tuition for the course.
The New York Institute of Career Development partners with Walgreens and CVS to offer a nation-wide externship, which is included as part of the class. All students will spend several weeks working in a pharmacy, learning on the job and mastering the skills required to succeed upon graduation.
Like all of NYICD’s programs, the Pharmacy Technician Course is self-paced, available online anywhere, anytime. Students will have access to a network of advisors by phone and email for academic support and career assistance. They will be able to earn their Pharmacy Tech Certification in a matter of months from a nationally-accredited institution.
